Snowhaus - "I Ain't Scared" MUSIC VIDEO

When Nathan Galloway, lead singer of the band Snowhaus, approached me about shooting a music video for him in December 2018, I had no idea how massive of an undertaking it would end up being. This was the first large-scale video project I’d ever done, and almost nine months of work later, I’m excited to share the final product with you.

Nathan and his band gave me complete creative control over the direction of the video. I wrote the script (see below), shot it with my own equipment, and edited it independently. My goal was to create a visual experience that symbolized a lot of the heavy themes present in the song, while maintaining a lighthearted aesthetic befitting of their “lovable party punx” style.

The process of creating this video wasn’t without its tribulations. During the shoot, my trusty Canon 70D suddenly died. Main board failure. Nasty stuff. Luckily, one of the band members had a Rebel I was able to finish the shoot with, though it could only shoot in 720p. To remedy this disparity between the earlier 1080p footage and this new camera, I embraced the low-res aesthetic and edited the footage to make it look like a grainy VHS tape.

Thankfully, I was able to use the money I earned from the commission to purchase a Canon 6D Mark II to replace my broken 70D.
